Seattle Sounders

For our morale event at work, we each received two tickets to a Sounders FC game against Dallas.  We'd never been to a Sounders game before and even this time, we thought about backing out because it was raining and traffic was horrible, but we are so glad we went!

Soccer is a fun sport to watch - there's always action on the field, the game doesn't stop and the enthusiasm of the crowd is contagious.

Seattle Sounders FC vs. Dallas FC

We, hesitantly, decided to take Samantha with us.  We bundled her up in a long-sleeve onesie, t-shirt, Huskies hoodie sweatshirt (of course!), tights, socks and jeans, wrapped her in a blanket, and we were on our way.

All bundled up!

She had a great time.  She loved the excitement, the lights of the field...and the soft pretzels!

Samantha and Eddie after the game
Even though the Sounders lost this match, we had a great time!

Ready to head home after the game!

Mary Poppins - The Musical

Eddie won some tickets from work to go see Mary Poppins - The Musical at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle.  I was expecting, "Free tickets?  Ok, probably up on the 3rd Mezzanine, but so what, they're free!"  Nope, these tickets were main floor tickets - fantastic seats to see a fantastic show!

We had so much fun - I think my favorite song was, "Step in Time," and it was all because of the dancing.  The guy playing Bert was a fabulous tap dancer, but I was so amazed when he walked up the wall of the theatre, started singing and tap dancing upside down on the ceiling and then walked down the other side!!

Now, not to leave our title character out - Mary Poppins was truly remarkable!  A close second to, "Step in Time" would be a tie between, "Feed the Birds," and "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" (wow, did I spell that right?).  We were so impressed with the entire Company and the sets at this performance.

To top off the night, Mary Poppins "flies" away out over the crowd with her magic umbrella!  Did I just give away the ending?  Nah, you knew the story already. ;)

If you get the opportunity to see this show - take it.  If not - make the opportunity!  It's in Seattle through May 29th.  Be prepared, the show is a bit long (just under 3 hours with intermission) but well worth the time and money!

Enjoy your "jolly holiday with Mary!"

A Baby and Her Food (Part II)

Whoever invented these little contraptions...genius!  I don't even know what they're called, all I know is that it's a mesh bag attached to a handle inside of which you can put food for babies and they don't choke on it because the food is coming through the mesh!

Samantha just loves hers and I must admit, it's been a lifesaver during her teething (still no teeth, by the way).  I chunk up some ripe pears and bananas, put them in a bag in the freezer, and when Samantha is needing something to soothe her gums, I put her in her highchair, fill the mesh bag, and she goes to town!  I love that's she's getting fruit this way too!

Another bonus is that she's happy for upwards of 30 minutes  so I roll her highchair into the kitchen and I can be doing dishes, preparing dinner, etc. while she's happily working away on her pears and bananas!!

Enjoying a frozen banana - oh, she's just so perfect!

A word of caution, these can be kind of messy, that's why I stick with pears, bananas and apples instead of foods that are vibrantly colored and may stain.

Of course, frozen fruit time is almost always followed by bath time to wash away the stickiness! :)

Samantha loves bath time!!
